Hello Golden Eagles!!!

The staff and I cannot wait to welcome you back for the 2019-20 school year!  We are continuing to improve our campus.  We have a new stage curtain, painted stage, kitchen serving area as well as new concrete to replace unsafe areas.  We are also excited to begin our journey with Leader in Me.  Here are some important dates for the beginning of the school year.

Our Dismissal Times Have Changed!

Monday-Thursday:

Kinder: 2:30 pm
First – Sixth: 2:45 pm

Friday:
Kinder: 1:00 pm
First – Sixth: 1:15 pm

Thursday, July 11 – School office reopens from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.  Please note:  If you Image result for residency verificationhave not done Residency Verification Renewal, your child has not been placed in a class.  Please be sure to do this to ensure a smooth first day for you and your child(ren). 

 

 

Image result for packet pick up    Friday, July 19 – Packet pick up community night from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.  Come find out who your child’s teacher is, receive your back to school packet, and meet some of our parent clubs and committees, after school clubs and district representatives.  Dinner will be available for purchase.

  • Learn more about our after school clubs
  • Fill out a lunch application

Monday, July 22 at 8:15 am is the First Day of School for students in grades 1-6 and is a Minimum Day (Dismissal is 1:15 pm).  Please note that students need to be on the blacktop at 8:15 am.  As a reminder, the parking lot is busy in the morning so give yourself plenty of time!

  • All incoming Kindergarten students and parents will report to the classroom at 9 am  for a Kindergarten Orientation.  Please note that Kinders will be dismissed to go home with their parents after orientation at 11:30 am.  Kindergarten students will also be on a Minimum Day schedule the first week of school – dismissal at 11:30 am.   Beginning July 29 Kindergarten students will be on the regular daily schedule (8:15 am – 2:30 pm Monday – Thursday and 1:00 pm dismissal every Friday).

On Thur. July 25 there will be two Volunteer In-services.  You can choose either 8:30 am or 6:00 pm and find out about the school expectations, school safety, volunteering and more.  Please note that for safety reasons no visitors or volunteers are allowed on campus during the instructional day the first 2 weeks of school. If you plan on volunteering, be sure to attend one of these sessions. Visitors and volunteers will be allowed on campus beginning Monday, August 5.

We have worked hard on bringing down our Chronic Absenteeism rate.  Please make sure to read the parent handbook when you receive it on July 19 regarding attendance.  Our continued goal will be an average daily rate of 98%.  Help use make this possibly.  Below are the school calendars for the next two school years.  You can also find them in the menu tab under Calendars.  Please consider these dates when planning family trips.

Last Two Days To Prove Residency!

Monday, June 17 and Tuesday, June 18 are the last two days to prove residency.  Office will be accepting Prove of Residency from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.  Here is more info regarding what to bring in.  Residency Verification Renewal

Classes have been formed and those who have not proven residency are not currently placed in a class.  To ensure a smooth day for your child, yourself, and the teacher, please be sure to stop by the office.  Thank you!

The School Office will be closed for the summer Wednesday, June 18 at 4:00 pm.  The Office will re-open Thursday, July 11. All students must prove residency before being placed on a class list for next school year.  All families must prove residency before July 18.  Click here for what to bring.

Important Information for Promotion

To Ensure a Smooth Promotion For All, Please Read:

Dear Parents,

6th Grade Promotion will begin at 8:30 am.  Please note that parking tomorrow (June, 5) will be extremely challenging.  If you live close, and are able to walk, please do so.  Please anticipate the possibility of needing to park a distance away. We will open the playground for 6th grade parent parking ONLY at 7:30 am.  No one will be allowed on campus or on the blacktop before then.  Please do not come early and block the bus loop, and do not park in the red zones.  The back gate will open at 7:30.  You may park in marked spots ONLY at the church.  Please do not park in their red zones.

Please save handicapped Parking for those with placards.  We have a limited number of disabled spots.handi

While finding a seat, some chairs have been reserved with a handicapped sign.  Please save that spot and the one next to it for families needing it.  Do not remove reserved signs.

What a great way to end the year!

  • Children must be picked up curbside.  Please do not ask your child to come in the street.  We understand this may involve circling around, but your child’s safety is important.  Please be patient.
  • Please do not use your cell phone while driving through parking lot.
  • Please pull forward into open spaces
  • Do not leave your car unattended in drop off zones.
  • Please be polite to safety patrol and other adults out keeping your children safe.

CAASPP Schedule

  • Get a good night sleep each night
  • Eat a healthy, low sugar breakfast
  • Get to school early so your aren’t rushing
  • Walk or run the track in the morning to clear your head and get the blood flowing

Testing Reminders

  • NO Homework for Grades 3-6 during the weeks of CAASPP testing.
  • CELL Phones and Smart Watches will be collected by teachers during testing.
  • BE ON TIME each day!  Students who are late will have to do make ups.
  • Visitors and/or Volunteers are not allowed in classroom during testing.
  • Classrooms will not be interrupted during testing.  Students may not leave the classroom once testing has started.  (Check doctor and dentist appointments)
  • Students in grades 3-6 can bring their own Personal Headset/Phones with their name on it or in a baggie with their name.  Please do not send your child with expensive headphones.  School will provide a set to any student that does not have them.
