Attendance Campaign
Dear Parents/Guardians:
The Chula Vista Elementary School District, the San Diego County Fair and Magic 92.5 FM will launch a Student Attendance Campaign on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. Here are the highlights of our campaign:
· The contest period is January 14, 2020 through May 4, 2020.
· CVESD, with support from partners San Diego County Fair and Magic 92.5 FM, will provide randomly drawn winners with prize packs. Eligible students are those with perfect attendance during the contest time period.
· Grades eligible are TK – Grade 12.
· All schools, District and charter, are eligible.
· Each student who has perfect attendance during the contest period will receive one free ticket to the San Diego County Fair!
Good attendance helps children do well in school and eventually in the workplace. Good attendance matters for school success, starting as early as prekindergarten and throughout elementary, middle and high school. Our campaign is an engaging reminder of the importance of good attendance. Be on the lookout for more information, such as attendance tips, in the weeks ahead. APEX Fun Run
APEX Fun Run Rain or Shine!
Please read the below information carefully regarding the two different possibilities for the Fun Run! Option A with no rain, and option B if it does rain.
Hello Parents,
The Apex Fun Run is tomorrow the 21st and we are so excited! Our school is raising money for campus beautification. To donate please check out your students “apex lanyard” that was distributed last Tuesday. All instructions are inside. To donate go to www.myapexevent.com. Use the student’s special “access code” printed on their lanyard to log in and enter your information online. This will help the school and the apex team to keep track pledges. All pledges must be put online by Thursday night at midnight, so even after the fun run students can get pledges. In anticipation of rain tomorrow we have created two schedules. Schedule A is the normal day schedule without rain. Schedule B is the rainy day schedule.

Rainy Days in Eastlake!!!!
Dear Parents, As we approach our first rainy day of the year, please be aware of rainy day procedures.
- If it is raining in the morning, students come to the auditorium. They line up inside with their class, where the teacher will come pick them up.
- We have a rainy day lunch schedule if it is raining during lunch time.
- PLEASE BE PATIENT in the parking lot! Our children’s safety is the number one priority. Please do not stop in the red. Do NOT ask you kids to come out in the street to get in the car. Keep circling until you are able to be curb side. I know this can be inconvenient, but again, we want to keep our kids safe.
- And remember…Please not cell phone while driving through the parking lot. This is unsafe and illegal. Thank you so much for your help and patience!
***For those who use the church parking lot for pick up, YOU MUST be in a parking spot, not lined up along the bank. The church is kind enough to let our parents use the lot. Please be respectful and safe. Park, get out of the car, and meet your child by the stairs. Thank you!

Here is a schedule for all of the upcoming parent trainings that occur before the DAC/DELAC meetings. All parents are invited.
Thursday, Nov. 21 – APEX FUN RUN. All money raised will go toward campus beautification. Be sure to… If you have lost your child’s Access Code you can reach out to the support email at info@apexleadershipco.com
– Log in to myapexevent to select your child’s t-shirt size.
– Donations will be accepted until Friday at 5pm.
– Cash/check donations will be collect in the classroom daily.
– Parent volunteers are needed for Thursday’s fun run.
Students are getting pledges to help raise money for the school and are earning awards for getting pledges. They are also learning daily leadership lessons from our APEX coaches. Students will be running on a small track. Picture the track like running around the outside of a full size basketball court. On average students run between 26 and 36 laps with 36 being the most they can get credit for. So if a pledge is made for $1 per lap the donation should be around 30 dollars. To donate use your child’s “apex lanyard” that was distributed on Tuesday. All instructions are inside. We are holding a raffle this weekend! Any student to get a pledge over the weekend will be entered into our raffle. Each grade will have their own raffle, the more pledges you get the more times your name is entered to win. The winners will be able to choose their prize from the Apex cart! Good luck!
