Mark your calendars now for Olympic View’s Red Ribbon Week. The week of October 23-27, will begin with an all-school assembly and include Spirit Days and many other activities throughout the week. The theme this year is Be Kind to Your Mind. Live Drug Free.

Tuesday, Oct. 24 – DAC/DELAC meeting at the District office @12 – 2 pm

Our annual #CVESD food drive, in partnership with the Chula Vista Welfare Council, starts tomorrow and will continue through October 26. Donation bins will be available at your school site during these dates, or your child can bring to their classroom as well. Help make a difference and be a community superhero! Questions? Please contact your school site.

We have several FREE clubs, and enrichment opportunities for students to participate in after school, and we are hoping to add many more. Our LEAD site lead staff, Karla, is our new site lead in charge of these opportunities.

We are hoping parents will have the opportunity soon to provide before or after school clubs as a paid ($50 an hour) opportunity. We are waiting to hear the requirements from the district.

Please know that our teachers will make every effort to meet in person with any legal guardian or parent who has educational rights for a child. Please be sure you have signed up for a conference. Traffic is a challenge in our small parking lot. S. Greensview is a busy street. PLEASE SLOW DOWN. Do not use your cell phone while driving in and around the parking lot. The first week of school is always very busy. Please remind your child what lot you will be picking up in.

As a reminder…Please DO NOT park in any red marked areas. These are fire lanes and must be kept clear. Thank you.

As our first possible rainy day of the year, please follow these safety protocols:

  • If raining at drop off, students will eat breakfast inside. 
  • Kinder, 5th and 6th grade line up (sitting) in the auditorium by grade level.
  • The rest of the grades line up outside their classrooms
  • If raining at pick up, Kinder gate will be opened so parents can come to the classroom door to pick up.
  • 1st – 6th will dismiss out front gates as normal. Please remember to bring your umbrellas!

PLEASE SLOW DOWN in and around the parking lot. Please anticipate increased traffic, and give yourself extra time. The safety of all Golden Eagles is our top priority. As usual, please DO NOT leave your car unattended in pick up zones, and DO NOT park in the red.
