Tuesday, Sept. 10 – We have an amazing opportunity for our 5th and 6th graders!  Bertrand’s Music, along with an OV alum have teamed up to offer our Golden Eagles After school band lessons!  Please join us in the auditorium from 6:00 – 7:30 pm for a chance to try out 5 different wind instruments.  Your child will have an opportunity to rent an instrument, starting as low as $20 per month.  ALL CLASSES WILL BE FREE and will be led by OV Alum Brooke Cote and Members of the Eastlake High Titan Regiment Band.  CLICK HERE FOR ALL INFO

Calling all High School Volunteers!  We have a new registration link for those high school students wanting to volunteer at upcoming OPTC events.  We can help them obtain community service hours.  Please note, they must complete the HS Volunteer Contract and turn in to Mrs. Lines.  To register to volunteer, please visit ovptc.org/volunteers

 

Come Shake it up with our after school Team Dance!  Dates are listed on the flyer.  There is a sibling, teacher and military discount!  This dance troop even takes a group to Disneyland for a performance.  Stop by the school office if you need a flyer or more info.  It is not too late to sign up, and there are some scholarships available.

Did you Know?

In California, State Superintendent of Instruction Tom Torlakson hosted a forum in May to encourage agencies to work together to fight chronic absence. Also this year, the state enacted a new school funding formula which will require every school district to monitor its chronic absence rate.

Attendance is important.  It is one of the indicators the state now looks at along with academics and suspensions rates.  Please be sure to make vacations plans during the 185 days that your child(ren) are not in school.  You can find the 2019-20 and 2020-21 Calendars below.

OPTC has worked diligently on the Bylaws and budget.  There has been a revision in the Bylaws about our fiscal year.  This was important to add for tax purchases.  Also, our taxes have been completed!

    Visitors and volunteers will be allowed on campus beginning Monday, August 5.  You must have your volunteer contract turned in, along with your TB test.  Remember, if you are on campus more than 2 days a week, you must be fingerprinted.  If you were unable to make the training, you are responsible for going through the powerpoint, and handbook, as well as turning in these two forms.
