Oct. 26 – 30 – We will be participating in Red Ribbon Week. We will learn about the importance of living a healthy, drug, alcohol, and tobacco free live. Oct. 30 – Join us for our Drive Through Halloween Parade!

You can wear a costume! Please stay in your car, and wear a mask. Students will receive treats and a free book! For everyone’s safety, please enter the north staff parking lot by turning right off of S. Greensview (No left turn into the parking lot). You will go through the kindergarten gate and to the playground. Please drive very slowly and follow any signs. You will exit through the bus loop and take a right on S. Greensview (no left turn). There will be door prizes for random OPTC members. Be prepared to show your paypal or credit card confirmation of joining.

It is important for students to share what they are learning about the habits. You can also watch this touching video called 80th Birthday regarding the importance of Beginning with the End in Mind.

Don’t Forget! Your child can select books from the library for curbside pickup! You can drive by EVERY OTHER TUESDAY from 12:30 – 2:30 pm. Please be sure to return library books already checked out! The dates for curbside pick-up are:

October: 13, 27 November: 10, December: 1, 15

Attention Military Families

We have a have a Military Family life Counselor! Jennifer Ornelas is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has been working as a Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) since April 2017. During her graduate work at USC, she completed a specialization certificate in Military Social Work, while also earning her Master’s degree. In addition to having 11+ years of experience in which she has specifically worked in the multi-faceted and dynamic role of providing counseling support, she also possesses

a solid educational foundation and a purposeful passion for helping. She specializes in warmth, connection, empathy, and solutions. In her current role as a MFLC at Olympic View Elementary, Jennifer is available to help support students, families and staff . She is available to work virtually with individuals, families and groups, as well as provide classroom presentation on topics such as stress management, deployment cycles and friendship skills.
