Feb. 6 – 10, 2023

Tuesday, Feb. 7 – DAC/DELAC Meeting at 12pm at ESSC CLICK HERE for agenda

Dear Families – Our Kids Heart Challenge is coming to an end on Tuesday, and our students have done an amazing job learning how to keep their hearts healthy while helping others! This is the last chance to help us reach our goal of having 100% of families learn Hands-Only CPR by completing Finn’s Mission. Join our team today at http://www2.heart.org/goto/OlympicView or on the FREE Kids Heart Challenge App for Apple or Android and follow Finn’s Mission in your headquarters!

YOU can make a difference! Each year, about 75% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur at home. Survival depends on immediate CPR from someone nearby. You can help save lives by learning Hands-Only CPR through Finn’s Missions!

Thank you for supporting our school and the American Heart Association!

Donations Due: February 10th!

Matching Gifts: Find out if your employer offers matching gifts at www.heart.org/matchinggifts

The Valentine’s Dance is for Olympic View Students only. Students must be accompanied by an adult.

We will begin our study and practice of Habit #6 – Synergize. CLICK HERE for ways to support at home. Also, watch this POWERFUL VIDEO on the power of synergy!

CVESD ThoughtExchange Survey is Now Open!

Our annual ThoughtExchange for community input on the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) is now open! Please see the flyer (in English and Spanish) for more information. This year, we are asking the question: What are some things we are doing well, and what could improve the educational experience we provide students through the LCAP?

The LCAP shapes our District’s goals and guides our budgeting priorities at both the district and school levels. Please join in on the conversation from Feb. 1 through April 1, 2023. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you!

Zone Transfers and NEW STUDENT Registration Information

It’s almost that time again! Everyone attending Olympic View Elementary on a CVESD Zone Transfer will receive an email in the last week of January with a specific link to renew the Zone Transfer for their child for the 2023-2024 school year.  Please complete this Zone Transfer (or ZT) process ASAP to keep your child at our school, or families risk losing their child’s spot at our school if a new family moves into the neighborhood. Please also remember that a Zone Transfer or Intradistrict Transfer may be denied if a child’s behavior or attendance needs improvement.

NEW STUDENT registration will begin on February 15 online for the following:

  • TK students who will be 5 years old Sept. 2, 2023 through April 2, 2024 (Olympic View will have TK for the 23-24 school year!)
  • Kindergartners who will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2023.
  • NEW students in grades 1st through 6th

You don’t need to look far to understand why Eastlake is a special place – it’s the people! Even though we have grown, we are still a small town at heart because of the support and care shown to each other, and the value we place on public education.

A community-wide effort The Come Together Community Campaign is underway to raise money for neighborhood public schools to fund technology hardware (computers, devices) educational software (to teach core subjects and advance learning through online platforms), fund professional development (so teachers can advance their skills) and provide STEAM programs (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math). Additionally, your support helps continue new programs like: Eastlake+, A Positive Podcast, Scholarships, Eastlake Alumni & Friends, Teacher Mini Grants, student internships, and numerous school programs.

Will you help us support our public schools by making a donation in any amount? We will ensure that 100% of your donation goes directly to our neighborhood public schools and is fully tax deductible. Your donation will make a meaningful impact for programs that help all our kids.

We know there are many worthy causes to support this year, and we hope that you will consider including the Come Together Community Campaign in your giving plans. Take a look at our most recent annual report for more information.
