Through the heartfelt collaboration of UNIFFIED Inglewood Chapter and the Page-Turner Club, the donated books from our Olympic View community were hand-delivered along with much-needed relief goods to families and children affected by the recent disaster. 💙 A huge thank you to Olympic View Elementary for your generosity and compassion. Your books are bringing not just stories, but hope and healing across the ocean. Thank you Ms. Oca for leading the service project!!!!!!!

Are you a member???? Please be sure to visit https://ovptc.org/ to become a member! Here are the current standings of our membership drive:
For the 2025-2026 school year, all OPTC memberships are just $5 per person (for the entire school year)!
OPTC membership is open to all OV students, parents, grandparents and family.
We are fully funded by OPTC membership fees, fundraisers, and donations. Your $5 membership fee helps support the school!
This year’s membership theme is Focused on the Future!
The first two classes to reach 100% classroom OPTC membership will be rewarded with a Chick-Fil-A class party!
*****OPTC would like to remind everyone that you cannot “buy” a win for the membership drive. In order to win, a membership must be purchased for the teacher AND every unique student in the class. Un-named, anonymous & duplicate membership purchases will be manually converted to donations. The tracker on our website is automated and requires verification and periodic adjustments by our board members. We will be providing every teacher with a class list of who has joined OPTC next week. If you’re interested in sponsoring another student, please discuss this with your teacher. We’d also like to remind everyone that our two winners always include one class each from upper & lower grade!
Parent/Teacher Conferences Are Coming Up!
Parent-teacher conferences start soon. Please mark your calendars and plan for our modified schedule. Conferences begin Thursday, September 11, and end Thursday, September 18. Remember, during the conference period, TK through 6th-grade students have early dismissal (TK-K – 1:00 p.m. and 1st – 6th – 1:15 pm). Conference information has been sent home by your child’s teacher. Please know that our teachers will make every effort to meet in person with any legal guardian or parent who has educational rights for a child and that you may also request a follow-up meeting if you have further questions or concerns. Please contact your child’s teacher directly.
Home Access Center/CAASPP Scores
The Chula Vista Elementary School District utilizes the Home Access Center (HAC) to share Student Score Reports for the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) and English Learner Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) with parents and guardians.
The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) tests can be combined with other measures like report card grades, classroom work, and teacher observations to give families and teachers a more complete picture of each child’s learning. The HAC allows parents and guardians to securely review, download, and save student results quickly and conveniently. Last week an email was sent out by our superintendent sharing important information on accessing your child’s 2023-24 state testing reports in HAC. The letter is available for review, as well as instructions on how to log in to the Home Access Center. If you continue to have trouble logging in, please contact our front office. Please note that hard copies are not provided by the school and all scores are located in the Home Access Center database.
There is research that shows the more school a student misses, the harder it is for them to keep a job in the future. For each day a child misses, it takes 3 days to make it up! If your child is not sick, they should be at school. Please use the school calendar to schedule routine Dr. and dentist appointments during the breaks when possible. Be sure to call Ms. Shelley (619-656-2030) whenever your child will be absent. Also, consider asking her about an Independent Study Contract for days you miss. Your child will receive attendance credit.
Our average daily attendance goal is 96%. Our Current Average year to date is 97.08% (Ranked number 1 in the district!) Here are the classes that hit our goal!(96% or higher!)

Please obey traffic laws in and around the school.
Traffic is a challenge in our small parking lot. S. Greensview is a busy street. PLEASE SLOW DOWN. Do not use your cell phone while driving in and around the parking lot. The first week of school is always very busy. Please remind your child what lot you will be picking up in.
As a reminder…Please DO NOT park in any red marked areas. These are fire lanes and must be kept clear. Thank you.
Please do not park in marked parking spots.
Drive slowly in and around the school.
Do you have time after school to help with pick up? CLICK HERE
Remind your child to be on the look out for your car.
Do not leave your car unattended in the drop off and pick up zones.
Pull all the way forward in the drop off and pick up zone.
