Week of July 24-28, 2023

Hello Olympic View families and friends! Thank you for a wonderful first week of school!  It was so great to welcome Golden Eagles back for the 2023-2024 school year. We were so excited to see the smiles and happiness of our students this week! Thank you for entrusting your children with us! We are so thankful for our teachers and staff that put in the extra effort to make the beginning of the school year such a success and preparing for an amazing year of learning.

Our goal is to inform families of school events and provide important announcements for the coming week. Monday, July 24Friday, July 28 – TK and Kinder students get out at 1pm. Your child’s teacher sent instructions for pick up.

July 24-27 – Regular dismissal for 1-6th Grade (2:45 pm)

Friday, July 28 – Minimum day for 1st – 6th (1:15 pm)

Every Friday is a minimum day for all students.

Join Mrs. Lines on Tuesday, July 25 from 8:20-9:15 am in the auditorium for Coffee Chat! Come learn about being a Title I school, a Leader in Me School, learn ways to volunteer, and ask questions! Hope to see you there!

Please be sure you familiarize yourself with the parent/student handbook. We especially ask that you read the uniform policy/dress code for the comfort and safety of your child. We have wood chips, and a gravel track that requires closed toed and heeled shoes at all time. This includes Crocs. CLICK HERE to view the parent handbook.

If your child will be bringing a cell phone, or wearing a smart watch, you MUST fill out THIS FORM. Please be sure to go over this with your child so they are clear about the policy. This policy is for the safety of all students and staff.

You will be happy to know that if you completed all the steps last year to volunteer on campus, you will not have to complete again! The only thing you will need to do is review the volunteer power point. You will also need to make sure your ID is scanned into our system. Those of you that would like to volunteer for the first time t.is year, stay tuned for more information

There will be no volunteers allowed on campus until Tuesday, Aug. 1. For those who want to volunteer for the first time, check next weeks blog for all the information.

One of the ways you can support your child and our school is to nominate yourself to be on our School Site Council. We are in need of 3 parent representatives and 1 parent alternate. We meet once a month, on a Wednesday, from 4-5:30 pm. SSC helps make decisions on school safety, and how to spend our funds. We would love to have you!

To nominate yourself, you can fill out THIS FORM, or you can receive a hard copy that is in your back to school packet by Friday, Aug. 4 Please consider being part of this leadership team.

Our Average Weekly Goal for attendance is 96%. The first week of school we hit 98%! Congratulations Golden Eagles. Congratulations to the following classrooms that had 100% attendance the first week of school!

Please obey traffic laws in and around the school.

Traffic is a challenge in our small parking lot. S. Greensview is a busy street. PLEASE SLOW DOWN. Do not use your cell phone while driving in and around the parking lot. The first week of school is always very busy. Please remind your child what lot you will be picking up in.

As a reminder…Please DO NOT park in any red marked areas. These are fire lanes and must be kept clear. Thank you.

Drive slowly in and around the school.

Do not leave your car unattended in the drop off and pick up zones.

Pull all the way forward in the drop off and pick up zone.

Do no make U-turns in the school zone at any time.
