Good Evening Olympic View Families and Friends!

Emails have been sent to families letting you know your child’s teacher. PLEASE NOTE…if you did not receive an email…

1. You registered within the last 3 days and your account in the messaging system is not active.
2. You received an email for one child but not the other: There is a glitch that we are working out OR you have two different emails listed for your children. Be sure to check all your active emails. (and junk mail)
3. Preschool Students are not active in the system yet. You will be contacted by the teacher.
4. Teachers will be contacting parents in the next few days to provide more information.
5. The Home Access Center is being updated and you will be able to see teacher name on Aug. 28
6. You must register in the Home Access Center with the email we have on file.
7. You can also call the office between 8 am – 4 pm to make sure we have an updated email.

Please note, class placement is carefully considered in order to balance classes and needs. No changes will be considered the first two weeks of school.

Your child’s teacher will be contacting you sometime this week if they have not already. If you have not heard from your child’s teacher by Friday, please email lisa.lines@cvesd.org

Home Access Center

You must register with the email we have on file at school.

The deadline to request a device of hotspot was, Aug. 25 at 5 PM. For new registration, we will have a second device distribution date.

Monday, August 31 THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR THE 2020 – 2021 – DISTANCE LEARNING! Please note that the first week of school daily live interaction with teachers will be no more than 2 hours and those hours may consist of whole group, small group and individual connections. Please note: It is not an expectation at OV that all students will be on a computer screen live with the teacher for 2 solid hours.

If your child’s login account is not active yet, you will receive your materials but not a computer if requested. You will need to come on the 2nd distribution date to be determined.

When coming to pick up materials, please enter the bus loop, taking a right off of S. Greensview. Please stay in your car and wear a mask. Please have sign with your child’s first and last name, grade level and teacher, if you know the teacher’s name. Please be prepared to open your trunk.

Childcare is limited and OV has only been alloted 36 spots. Families who completed the

survey and who qualify are currently being contacted be contacted. Childcare will begin the week of September 8, and once you confirm, the YMCA will be contacting you.

It’s time for Residency Verification! In order to attend Camarena School ALL STUDENTS with the exception of incoming Kindergarteners who already registered, MUST provide documentation of residency. Click here for the residency verification form. Please scan/take a photo of your completed documents and email to olympicviewschool@cvesd.org. A Distance Learning parent handbook is now available. CLICK HERE to view. Please note that California Compulsory Education Law requires everyone between the ages of six and eighteen years of age to attend school, except sixteen- and seventeen-year-olds who have graduated from high school or passed the California High School Proficiency Exam (CHSPE) and obtained parental permission to leave.
