Thank you for attending Back to School Night our the Book Fair! Thank you to OPTC for sponsoring the Book Fair. Congratulations to these two Leaders of the week who won the Friday Raffle and won $25 dollars to the book fair!

Friday, Aug. 8 – Back to school Block Party!
This event is for Olympic View students and their families. Students may not be dropped off, and must be accompanied by an adult. You are welcome to bring chairs, blankets and your own food. We will also have food for purchase.

WE NEED YOU!!! Please consider being a part of this important group!
One of the ways you can support your child and our school is to nominate yourself to be on our School Site Council. We are in need of 4 parent representatives. We meet once a month, on a Wednesday, from 4-5:30 pm. SSC helps make decisions on school safety, and how to spend our funds. We would love to have you!
To nominate yourself, you can fill out THIS FORM, or you can receive a hard copy that is in your back to school packet by Friday, Aug. 8 Please consider being part of this leadership team.

There is research that shows the more school a student misses, the harder it is for them to keep a job in the future. For each day a child misses, it takes 3 days to make it up! If your child is not sick, they should be at school. Please use the school calendar to schedule routine Dr. and dentist appointments during the breaks when possible. Be sure to call Ms. Shelley (619-656-2030) whenever your child will be absent. Also, consider asking her about an Independent Study Contract for days you miss. Your child will recieve attendance credit.
Our average daily attendance goal is 96%. The first week of school, our average was 96.9. Congratulations to the classroom who met our goal!

We have been focused on the first 8 days of rolling out the 8 habits! Our first habit we will be focused on is Habit number 1 – Be Proactive. Students learn the importance of being Proactive instead of Reactive. We learn about strategies for self-regulation as well as being responsible for your actions, attitude, and effort.
