Welcome to the 2024-25 School Year!!

Dear Olympic View families and friends,

The staff and I are so excited to kick off the 2024-25 school year! We look forward to an exciting year of learning and fun! Please be sure you are following the school blog so you are getting up to date information. Be sure to attend packet pickup on Tuesday, July 23 in order to get all of the important paperwork that will need to be returned to your child’s teacher. We will also be handing out free books to students.

Be sure to read all information below.

At Olympic View, we follow a placement process that maximizes both positive academic and social experiences within the classroom.  It is our commitment to place all children in an optimized learning environment where they will thrive and reach their fullest potential.  Our goal is to create equitable and balanced classrooms environments that ensures the success of all students.  The assignment of students to classes is a collective effort made by teachers and school administration.  Decisions for class placement are student-based using the following criteria:  gender ratio, range of academic levels, language proficiency, past interactions, teacher’s knowledge, and special needs of students.   Due to the delicate nature of creating equitable classes, we will not make any classroom adjustments at this time.

You will be happy to know that if you completed all the steps last year to volunteer on campus, you will not have to complete again! The only thing you will need to do is review the volunteer power point. You will also need to make sure your ID is scanned into our system. Those of you that would like to volunteer for the first time this year, stay tuned for more information

There will be no volunteers allowed on campus until Monday, Aug. 12. For those who want to volunteer for the first time, check next weeks blog for all the information.

One of the ways you can support your child and our school is to nominate yourself to be on our School Site Council. We are in need of 3 parent representatives and 1 parent alternate. We meet once a month, on a Wednesday, from 4-5:30 pm. SSC helps make decisions on school safety, and how to spend our funds. We would love to have you! CLICK HERE to learn more about SSC.

To nominate yourself, you can fill out THIS FORM, or you can receive a hard copy that is in your back to school packet by Friday, Aug. 4 Please consider being part of this leadership team.
