District Calendar for the 22-23 School Year

September is Attendance Awareness month! School attendance is a predicator of job success in the future. Please ensure your child(ren) is at school, on time, every day! For every day of school missed, it takes 3 days for children to try and catch up. Please plan vacations, Dr. and Dentist appointments during school breaks.

School attendance is a powerful predictor of student outcomes. In fact, irregular attendance can be a better predictor of whether students will drop out of school before graduation than test scores, according to the US Department of Education.

The correlation between attendance and dropout rates has important ramifications that go beyond the classroom. Compared to their peers who graduate, students who fail to complete their high school education are more likely to live in poverty, suffer poor health, struggle to maintain a job, and become involved in the criminal justice system.

Our Average Weekly attendance last week was 96% (up 2%!!). 98% is the goal. Congratulations to these classrooms who met the weekly goal!
