As the holiday season is upon us, I wanted to take a minute to express my gratitude for our Golden Eagle community. I have so many things to be grateful for, and our school, and all of you are on that list. I hope this time of year finds you reflecting on the people and things in your life that you are thankful for. Please give your child(ren) a big hug and let them know how much their principal misses them. May you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
We hope you all had a wonderful Veterans Day Weekend!

We started learning more about Habit #3 – Put First Things First. CLICK HERE to learn how you can support this habit at home. You can also WATCH THIS with your child(ren).
Our Character strength of the month is MOTIVATION!
School attendance is a predicator of job success in the future. Please ensure your child(ren) is at school, on time, every day! For every day of school missed, it takes 3 days for children to try and catch up. Please plan vacations, Dr. and Dentist appointments during school breaks.
School attendance is a powerful predictor of student outcomes. In fact, irregular attendance can be a better predictor of whether students will drop out of school before graduation than test scores, according to the US Department of Education.
The correlation between attendance and dropout rates has important ramifications that go beyond the classroom. Compared to their peers who graduate, students who fail to complete their high school education are more likely to live in poverty, suffer poor health, struggle to maintain a job, and become involved in the criminal justice system.
Our goal for average attendance is 96%. Last week our average was 93.27%. Our school is currently ranked #2 for good attendance! Congratulations for your heard work and dedication! Below are the classrooms that met or exceeded the goal!

Please be sure to read the guidelines below to ensure a smooth and safe parade. Parents, please be sure to follow staff directions on where you can stand to view the parade. Please be sure your child has clothes under their costume, and a bag to store their costume after the parade.
Students need to be at school every day and on time. Please make sure your child is here by 8:15 a.m. and lined up on the blacktop (TK-kinder). Let’s continue to improve our attendance! If your child must be out sick, please contact the office at 619-656-2030 to excuse the absence. Remember to bring a doctor’s
note. Vacations, dentist, and doctor visits should be scheduled during our breaks whenever possible. If your child misses school, they are missing out on important learning! Our school staff will be meeting with parents/guardians, calling home, and doing home visits for students who are chronically absent.
